Join our team of patent attorneys or learn more about our range of training and work experience
We’re a fast-growing patent attorney firm, focusing on patenting in software and electronics fields, with particular expertise in AI, robotics, cybersecurity and space-based technologies. Our clients are leaders in their respective fields – including three unicorn start-ups whom we’ve represented since incorporation – with clever technology ideas that need protecting.
We’re an ambitious, forward-thinking firm and a core part of our success is our unswerving commitment to recruiting the very best people. Then we want to look after them, involve them in working for our exciting and varied client-base and help them to progress within Barnes IP.
Whether you’re fresh out of university or an established IP expert with your own client portfolio, if you think you have what we’re looking for – and that we have what you’re looking for – we want to hear from you.
Barnes IP works with a number of top institutions and is currently recruiting for engineering/science graduates to join the team. Minimum requirements are a BSc or Masters degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or Maths – not Law. If you would be interested in applying for one of these roles, please contact us for further information.
Our sister company, Barnes IP Training, offers intellectual property training courses for the CIPA FD4 Examination. Philip Barnes, an ex-P6/FD4 Examiner and the co-author of the current CIPA edition of the P6/FD4 Training Book, originally developed his course in 2013, having given many CIPA tutorials and in-house tutorials at several of the large UK firms and through JDD Consultants. For further information, please visit the Barnes IP Training website.
We are planning to offer work experience positions at Barnes IP, partnering with key education institutes. Please note that these will be science-based roles, not law, so if you are in secondary school or college and studying science/engineering subjects, please email us!
We can offer summer internships to students studying physics, engineering, computer science or maths subjects – please get in touch to find out more.
